The dermatology service at Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a Consultant-led and predominantly Consultant-delivered integrated community and secondary care service, accessible to patients across West Sussex through centres in Chichester, Worthing, Bognor and Shoreham. All patients are seen within six weeks of referral, with the option of being seen and treated on the same day across our four sites. The service is run wholly to benefit patients, with any income generated by the service being invested back in the local NHS.

Our integration of community and secondary care enables us to offer continuity of treatment should a patient's skin condition require hospital attention, as well as direct access to MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) consultation and links to national research trials.

It is led by two highly experienced Consultants in Dr Justine Hextall and Dr Amin Karim, both of whom trained at St John's Institute in London, the most prestigious dermatology hospital in Europe. Dr Hextall is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, is Chair of the Sussex wide skin cancer Network Site Specific tumour group and has special interests in skin lupus and facial skin cancers. Dr Karim is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians and specialises in skin cancer and skin surgery. For full biographies of the WSHFT Community Dermatology team, click here
